There
is no doubt that the attacks are against the democratic
structure of
Turkey, a secular nation affiliated with NATO, in the
process of joining the
European Union and a role model for the Muslim countries.
The so called “Islamic terrorists”, who managed
to portray Islam as a violent
religion, attacked not only the people of Turkey, but
the republic’s eighty year old secular and democratic
heritage as well.
We call all democratic societies to condemn all terrorist
acts, regardless of
who executes it, against whom it is committed, and where
it takes place in the
world. Terrorism will eventually boomerang against who
use them as tools for
their self interests.
